Floyd P. Duncan, age 76 went home to the Lord on Wednesday, November 30 2016.



Floyd retired from a career in the armed forces serving both in the US Army and the Air National Guard. He was trained as a printer in the military and continued in the field in his civilian life. In healthier days, his favorite thing was performing for his local church in the Singing Duncan’s Gospel Group. Floyd P. Duncan, age 76 went home to the Lord on Wednesday, November 30 2016.



Floyd retired from a career in the armed forces serving both in the US Army and the Air National Guard. He was trained as a printer in the military and continued in the field in his civilian life. In healthier days, his favorite thing was performing for his local church in the Singing Duncan’s Gospel Group. It was when he was singing for the Lord with his wife Joann, brother Lloyd and sister in law Rene he was the happiest. Floyd was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Maiden.



Floyd is survived by his children, Brenda Duncan, Wayne Duncan and wife Tammy, Ed Duncan and wife Shelley and Lonnie Duncan and wife Kimberly; eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.



Floyd was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Joann; siblings Lloyd, George, Ray and Jewell Ann.



A celebration of Floyd’s life will be held at 11 am Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Catawba Funeral Home in Hickory with Brother Bud Painter officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9 am to 11 am at the funeral home.
