Rosemarie Grace Pizzichillo Derra, 81, of Newton, NC, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017, at her home.



Born on January 26, 1936 in Essex, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Frank Pizzichillo and Mary Lorefice Pizzichillo. Mrs. Derra was a manager for Ethel Shoppe in NJ for many years; she loved to sew and work in her garden, she loved music but mostly Elvis along with western TV and action films. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Orange,NJ.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 40+ years, James Derra; niece, Mary Anna Pizzichillo; sister-in-laws, Elianore Pizzichillo and Cathy DeLarenzo; brother-in-law, Frank Derra.



Mrs. Derra is survived by her brother, Peter Pizzichillo; nieces, Dana Jones, Sandra Bonade, Linda Grady, Roseanne DeLarenzo, Francine DeCeglie, Patricia Herendeen, Francine Mericle, Ellen Garrison; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews and cousins; and her beloved cat, Sandy.



A Visitation will be held Monday, June 19, 2017 from 4-5:45 pm at Catawba Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremations prior to the service; family request casual wear.



A Memorial Service will be held Monday, June 19, 2017 at 6:00 pm at the Funeral Home with Chaplain Bruce Dayton officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date at Catawba Memorial Park.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Mrs. Derra to the American Cancer Society at PO Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
